AC/DC

Flick of the Switch

A record Jan bought in his teenage years, probably only for the song Bedlam in Belgium. In our humble opinion this is not the best of AC/DC records. Actually we would like to acquire a compilation album.

Luc Van Acker

Luc Van Acker

Got this for my 16th birthday. An album with considerable contrasts... the soft, magnificent duet with Anna Domino Zanna on the one hand, and fiercely swirling songs like Feels Like Love and Wild and Angry on the other hand. Nice record. Beautiful sleeve too.

The Afghan Whigs

Black Love

I actually only bought this album for that gorgeously sung out of tune single Going to Town, that song made me feel weak in the knees. Afterwards I didn't really listen to it much, even though Honkey's Ladder is also a beauty of a song, and the album in its entirity is pretty good. Shame on me.

The Apartments

The Evening Visits... and Stays for Years

Splendid, introverted album of an obscure Australian band. Especially What's the Morning for? is beautiful. Bought at the peak of my obsession with Australia. But definitely worth it.

The Armoury Show

Waiting for the Floods

I was blown away by the voice of the singer. The single Castles in Spain was my first acquaintance with this band, and I played the album to death. My only purchase nevertheless.

Louis Armstrong

What a Wonderful World

Each time I heard the song What a Wonderful World (as in the movie Good Morning Vietnam), I wished I owned it. So we bought this compilation, but unfortunately it doesn't contain the original version of the song. But there are other great songs.

Arno

Charlatan

Arno's second solo album after T.C. Matic, and definitely not his best. It contains a lot of songs which sound like fillers. The magnificent single Jive to the Beat is worth the purchase of the album though.

Aztec Camera

High Land, Hard Rain

Bought for 2.5 EURO in Bilbo, Gent. First purchase of a band I'd been feeling very strongly about since the mid-eighties. The album in its entirity isn't their strongest, but I've had a weak spot for Oblivious and Walk Out to Winter since those songs were released in 1983-1984.

Stray

Another purchase for 2.5 EURO in Bilbo. You can't leave them there for that price. Especially when they contain Good Morning Britain, the duet with Mick Jones of Clash fame.

Dreamland

Bought in a second hand shop in London for about 7.4 EURO. I didn't know one single song on the album, but an Aztec Camera album just can't be bad.
